TruMACC Program

Student Resources

As a student co-enrolled at Truman and MACC, you have the ability to utilize resources at both schools. The following provides a list of those resources and how to get connected with both campuses.

Resources at Truman

While participating in TruMACC, think of Truman as your "host" institution. Until you fully transfer to Truman, you will be categorized as a non-degree-seeking student, but still have access to the resources and benefits of degree-seeking students. Once you finish your Associate of Arts (AA) and transfer over to Truman full-time, you will have access to all resources any of our full-time students have.

TruMACC students are required to participate in Truman’s Summer Orientation Program (attending the August orientation session, which includes TruMACC-specific programming) and Truman Week activities in order to acclimate to the Truman campus experience.

Academic Advising

Academic advising for Truman courses is provided by an advisor from the Truman Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) in coordination with the MACC Advisor. Your academic advisor will help you register in courses, adjust your schedule, and help you navigate Truman's resources and policies.

Tutoring Services

Truman offers many tutoring services, including the Tutoring Center, Writing Center, and Research Librarian services. Tutors are vetted by faculty, trained in learning strategies, and available for one-on-one appointments.

Account & Payment Info

For information on setting up your Truman account and paying your bill. Truman’s Business Office is located in McClain Hall, Room 105. The following offices are included in the Business Office: Student Accounts (billing and loans), Cashiers (in-person payments), Payroll (student and employee), and Accounts Payable and Purchasing.

Financial Aid

To share your financial aid between MACC and Truman, you must complete the Consortium Agreement form through MACC. In addition, students eligible for the Access Missouri Grant ($12,000 or less SAI*) will be awarded a $2,500 University Housing Grant to apply toward residence hall room costs. *Student Aid Index (SAI) is determined via FAFSA.

While TruMACC students are not able to work on-campus while in the program, they may seek employment off campus. Current students at Truman may find off campus opportunities on TruPositions.

On-Campus Housing and Dining

TruMACC students can live on-campus in Truman's residence halls. The housing application and $150 deposit ($125 refundable prior to May 1) must be submitted to receive a housing assignment. Truman meal plans offer students a variety of options and conveniences at two dining halls, a convenience store, and Mainstreet Foodcourt.

On-Campus Parking

Whether living on-campus or choosing to commute, students will need a parking pass through Parking Services. Students living on-campus (green pass) have parking at their residence hall while commuters (blue pass) have many options to park across campus.

TruMACC students are subject to the Truman Student Conduct Code, overseen by the Office of Citizenship and Conduct (OCC).

Campus Life

TruMACC students enjoy campus life experiences offered by Truman. These include clubs and organizations and campus-wide events such as concerts, comedy shows, speakers, and performances.

Community Enrichment

The Office of Community Enrichment (OCE) and the Center for International Students strives to create positive and transformational experiences for all students. OCE helps students build and actively participate in both academic and social realms, fostering growth, diverse experiences, and nurturing inter-group relations.

The Rec Center provides a variety of workout equipment, facilities, and programs to help students lead a healthy lifestyle. Truman's intramurals program and fitness classes are highly utilized and fun ways for students to connect.

Counseling Services

Truman’s University Counseling Services is located in the Kirk Building. It is operated through a partnership with Complete Family Medicine, a service of Hannibal Regional – a not-for-profit health system. Students have the option for in-person or virtual care, as well as individual and group counseling.

Resources at MACC

While participating in TruMACC, think of MACC as your "home" institution. As a full-time student at MACC, you will be categorized as a degree-seeking student and have access to all resources and amenities while also taking courses at Truman toward your major area of study.

Orientation

TruMACC students are strongly encouraged to attend the half-day MACC Greyhound Orientation, which will help familiarize students with many aspects of MACC. Dates are to be determined.

Academic advising for TruMACC students is provided by designated MACC Advisor, in coordination with Truman advisors.

In-person, virtual, and online tutoring is available for all students. The LARC offers Library and Academic Resource Center services at the Kirksville location.

Business Office services at the MACC Kirksville location include student accounts, cashiers, scholarship information, refund information, and loan information.

Financial Aid

All financial aid for eligible TruMACC students is disbursed by MACC Financial Aid Office. Missouri A+ Scholarship eligible students are required to take at least 12 credit hours between both institutions.

Limited work-study positions may be available at the MACC Kirksville site.

On-Campus Housing and Dining

MACC does not provide residential housing at its Kirksville location. Staff will work with TruMACC students to provide Truman residence hall information.

Activities and Organizations

TruMACC students may participate in a variety of organizations and activities through MACC, including a wide range of student organizations, clubs, athletics, arts events, and other student-led activities.

Recreational Facilities

The MACC Activity Center is located on the Moberly Campus. Students at all MACC locations are welcome to use the athletic facilities as well as attend the variety of events held at the center.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Multicultural Club is open to both international and American students. Designated international advisors are housed on the Moberly and Columbia campuses and can provide specialized advising and support for international students attending MACC’s Kirksville location.

MACC’s Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a confidential service designed to help students and families with personal or student/life balance issues. SAP is available to all students and includes assistance with mental health and connecting you to social services supports.
